The Rolling Stones to rock Glastonbury Festival
Mick Jagger is bringing his moves and groove to Glastonbury Festival in June. Let's rock, let's roll... the Rollings Stones have been confirmed as headliners of one of England's favourite outdoor events this year. As the announcement drives music lovers into a frenzy, the band's epic frontman tweets: Can't wait to play Glastonbury. I have my wellies and my yurt.
Youthful and exhilarating, Worthy Farm's summer vibe will climax from 26 to 30 June with world-class music, theatre and New shenanigans. As in previous years, more than 100,000 people are expected to attend Glastonbury, the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world.
The Rolling Stones stellar appearance is without a doubt a stroke of genius, yet the festival's lineup has kept an ace up its sleeve. And that is its inclusivity... There will be performances for tastes of all shapes and sizes. This year's Glastonbury festival is to be live streamed for the first time with viewers able to watch different stages as they tale place. The BBC will use the latest digital technology so that viewers can choose from simultaneous live streams from all the major stages.
